Grace’s annual fall mission trip to Reynosa, Mexico, to serve with Faith Ministry will be Saturday, October 12 through Sunday, October 20.
The group will fly from RDU to McAllen, Texas, where they will shop for food and other supplies. They’ll then cross the border to the Faith Ministry complex in one of the colonias of Reynosa, where they will stay for the week in comfortable dorms.
The main purpose of the trip is to build a concrete block house for a family that most likely has been living in a wooden shack. No construction experience is necessary — just elbow grease and a willing heart! Group members will work side by side with their Mexican friends, some of whom work for Faith Ministry, others who are volunteers working toward a house for themselves or family members.
During the week the team will enjoy delicious food prepared in the Faith Ministry kitchen, build relationships with the locals, share devotions, and sing in both Spanish and English!
In addition to building the house, the team will have the opportunity to visit Faith Ministry’s medical clinic as well as its flourishing vegetable garden in nearby Naranjito. Group members will laugh, will cry, and will return to Raleigh most likely stronger in their faith, having served Jesus by serving others.
If you sense that the Lord is leading you to serve on a mission team, then please consider this trip. It might very well change your life!
