Romans 12:3-8

“For by the grace given me, I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us….” (Romans 12:3-6).

Risk for the Christian is finding your place intentionally in the Christian community. Spiritual risk causes us to live in dependence on Him, obeying His commands about our place for using our unique gifts in the body.

Why is it a risk?
It requires commitment because the parts of the body are so diverse. We need to watch out for our own judgment and repent. We need to prepare to be judged ourselves because of our differences in the body.

Why take the risk?

1. We need the encouragement of the body of Christian community because this is where we fit, not in the world.

2. The body is where God has told us through the Bible to exercise our gifts. These gifts from Him are actually a stewardship for us to carry out (Rom. 12: 6-8).

3. The body is where you discover your spiritual gifts…just start serving with the abilities God has given you.
